If you have a love for the study and history of languages, and in particular yiddish, do not miss the opportunity to see "SCHLEMIEL,SCHLEMAZL & THE DOPPESS", when next it airs on Ovation The Arts Network. I highly reccommend this documentary. It provides non-yiddish speakers with a true appreciation for the nuances (of which there are far too many to recount here) and uniqueness of a tongue that evolved as a cultural necessity, and makes you long to be a fluent speaker if you are not, and I would imagine makes those who are,kvell.
